Classes & Curriculum
As a Chemistry Major, you will broaden your knowledge with a combination of required and elective courses. Some of these courses vary, depending on the degree type. Through the coursework, you'll gain exposure to
- atomic and molecular structure,
- laboratory procedures,
- organic spectroscopy and stereochemistry,
- scientific writing, and
- thermodynamics.
Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry
The curriculum for the Chemistry BA includes
- 12 required chemistry courses,
- 2 writing-intensive chemistry courses and
- at least 5 required courses in other scientific disciplines.
Some of the required courses and electives include
- General Chemical Science,
- Organic Chemistry and
- Techniques of Chemical Measurement.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
The curriculum for the Chemistry BS includes
- at least 2 advanced chemistry courses,
- 1 advanced chemistry research course and
- at least 5 required courses in other scientific disciplines.

- Cell Structure and Function,
- Cooperative Research,
- Elementary Classical Physics,
- Organic Chemistry, and
- Techniques of Chemical Measurement.
