The advanced skills gained from a graduate degree in the College of Liberal Arts are highly relevant in today’s rapidly evolving world. You will form expertise through rigorous coursework and research to meet your professional and personal goals. The History MA program is primarily dedicated to producing well-trained historians who aspire to earn a postgraduate degree; seek to teach in primary and secondary schools; and work in public history institutions, including archives, historical parks, government agencies and museums.

Graduates of the History MA program work at numerous colleges and universities in tenured and tenure-track positions, as historians for federal and state governments, in museums, university presses, and as university administrators.
