Temple University was founded on the promise of access, service and opportunity for all. That founding mission continues today through the work of the Office of Community Impact and Civic Engagement (OCICE). As the centralized hub for Temple’s place-based community initiatives, OCICE coordinates and mobilizes university resources—academic, clinical and operational—across four pillars of impact: education, economic inclusion, healthy neighborhoods and civic engagement.
Rooted in North Philadelphia and radiating throughout the region, our work reflects Temple’s role as a public, urban research university and an anchor institution. By strengthening partnerships with residents, schools, nonprofits and civic leaders, we aim to improve quality of life, expand opportunity and co-create long-term solutions that drive transformational change.
