To ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience for all participants in our Continuing Education Professional Training Certificate Programs, we have established the following policies:

1. 1. Course Completion Timeframe: Only courses completed within the same 3-year period are eligible to be applied towards a certificate. This ensures that participants have up-to-date knowledge and skills in their chosen field.
2. 2. Certification Path Package (CPP) Eligibility*: To take advantage of this discounted pricing, students must meet the following criteria:
   
   1. A. Register for a Professional Training Certificate.
   2. B. Pay the full CPP price in advance.
   3. C. Not have completed any of the courses included in the package within the last 3 years. This ensures that students benefit from the most current course content and contribute to a cohesive learning experience within the program.

   Note: For the Certificate in Intermediate English Language Proficiency, High-Intermediate English Language Proficiency, and Advanced English Language Proficiency, only courses listed in the Elective Courses section are eligible for the CPP. While other courses not listed may be applied as an elective towards the completion of a Professional Training Certificate (PTC), they are not eligible for inclusion in the CPP.

3. 3. Elective Course Restrictions: Elective courses may not be applied to multiple certificates. Students must select unique elective courses for each certificate they pursue. This policy encourages participants to diversify their skill set and knowledge base across various areas of expertise.
4. 4. Attendance and Participation: Regular attendance and active participation in all classes, discussions, and group activities are required to successfully complete a course and receive credit towards a certificate.
5. 5. Grading and Assessments: In order to receive credit towards a certificate, students must achieve a passing grade in all courses, as determined by the course instructor. Please note that for some Professional Training Certificates (PTCs), certain courses may require a "Pass With Distinction" grade for the credit to be awarded. This reflects the high standard of mastery expected in these particular courses.
6. 6. Academic Integrity: All participants must adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity, including refraining from plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of academic misconduct.
7. 7. Course Withdrawal and Refund Policy: Students may withdraw from a course before a specified deadline and receive a refund, less any applicable administrative fees. After the deadline, no refunds will be issued. Withdrawal deadlines and refund policies will be clearly communicated to students upon registration.
8. 8. Course Cancellation Policy: In the event that a course is cancelled by TUJ, students will be notified as soon as possible and offered the choice of transferring to another course or receiving a full refund, except for CPP courses included in certificate programs. If the cancelled course is part of a CPP, students will be offered the following options:
   
   1. A. Transfer to an equivalent course, if available, without any additional charges.
   2. B. Defer to a future semester, when the cancelled course becomes available.
9. 9. Certificate Completion: Upon successful completion of all required courses, students will receive their Professional Training Certificate. It is the student's responsibility to ensure they have completed all necessary courses within the specified timeframe.
10. 10. Certificate Program Updates: TUJ reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue certificate programs as needed to ensure the relevance and quality of the curriculum. Students will be notified of any changes that may impact their progress towards a certificate.

By adhering to these policies, we aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment for all participants, enabling them to achieve their professional goals and excel in their chosen fields.

Understanding Your Course Grades

In Continuing Education, we believe in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students. Therefore, we have established a grading system that takes into account both your attendance and your performance in course work/assignments. Here's how it works:

Our grading system is divided into two components: Attendance and Course Work/Assignments. Each of these components is graded separately, and the final grade is determined by the combination of these two grades. Here is the breakdown:

Pass With Distinction: This is the highest recognition we offer for course completion. If you achieve a grade of 90% or higher in both attendance and assignments, you will receive a "Pass With Distinction". This grade is a testament to your exceptional commitment to the course and your outstanding academic performance.

Pass: A "Pass" grade is awarded to students who achieve a grade between 70% and 89% in either attendance or assignments. This grade reflects a solid commitment to the course and a commendable level of academic achievement.

No Pass: If a student's grade is less than 70% in either attendance or assignments, they will receive a "No Pass" grade. This indicates that the student may need to revisit the course material or improve their attendance for a better understanding and performance. For core courses, students who receive a "No Pass" should re-register for the course. For electives, students have the option to choose other courses.
