Accreditation
The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). In 2016, Katz received a full eight-year accreditation from LCME and is now preparing for its 2025 re-accreditation. Katz was founded in 1901 as Pennsylvania’s first co-educational medical school and has been accredited since before the LCME was founded in 1942.
Students who receive their medical education at an LCME-accredited school, such as Katz, are certified as having completed their requirements for a medical degree. This allows them to obtain a license to work as a resident under the supervision of a licensed physician in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Visit the LCME website for a full list of accredited programs. For more information about Katz’s LCME accreditation, please email [insert email address]
Temple University Hospital is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited sponsoring institution.
